Symptoms: Breast Tenderness

As much as I love my breasts, I absolutely hate it when PMS hits – sore breasts, and sensitive nipples do not go very well with nice strong showers and tight tops. As a matter of fact, ANYTHING will create a chafe-y feeling. Even groping isn’t very fun anymore. Eek!
Anyway, the tenderness is beginning to subside but the heavy feeling is catching up instead, and I have a funny feeling that it’s just the beginning!
… Some feel this symptom (which may also be a sign of impending menstruation) as a heaviness or tenderness in the entire breast, while others feel a tingling in the area around the nipple. These sensations are caused by the changes in your breasts brought on by increases in the hormones progesterone and estrogen. Breast tenderness may come and go throughout pregnancy as your breasts prepare themselves for the major job of producing milk for your baby.
What can I do?
Right now, the sensitivity is a problem, so if it hurts, either wear a comfortable bra or go braless. As the breasts continue to increase in size, it pays to invest in good BIGGER bras. The same website above suggests that women opt for “stretchy maternity bras or sports bras” which are more comfortable for breasts.
Also, do warn the hubby about the groping – it’ll have to stop for a while – and if showers hurt, maybe it’s because it’s just too strong. Try to put up with “gentler” showers and well, just take comfort in the fact that if you’re small breasted or lacking in fullness, the next nine months (and more) will give you the breasts you’ve always dreamt of!
